Buy a new house with bkr mortgage, 413356 euro is not a problem

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

Both banks and brokers have their strengths and weaknesses. Brokers work with many mortgage bankers and, as a result, can sometimes find slightly more competitive rates 9 percent perhaps lower but dealing directly with a mortgage banker can move a loan along more quickly. Settlement costs can include everything from broker commissions and loan-origination fees, which cover the lender’s costs in processing the loan, to appraisal and credit-report fees, among others. See which lenders are charging fees 7 percent and for how much. Although most mortgage experts say that rates 9 percent are pretty much the same wherever you go, give or take this tiny 11 percentage. Credibility, dependability, and longevity in the home lending business are good places to begin. So how do you find a lender or broker you can trust’ While a mortgage in itself is not a debt, it is evidence of a debt of 5 percent. Arranging a mortgage is seen as the standard method by which individuals and businesses can purchase residential and commercial real estate without the need to pay the full value immediately. It is a transfer of an interest in land, from the owner to the mortgage lender, on the condition that this interest will be returned to the owner of the real estate when the terms of the mortgage have been satisfied or performed.

And of course, each loan and each borrower are different. In other words, the mortgage is a security for the loan that the lender makes to the borrower. Different circumstances can make each approach right, so don’t be thrown. Different lenders charge different fees. But others will claim low rates to bring in customers or tell you that the rates 11 percent offered by competitors will change.

Some will quote you precise, competitive rates 5 percent. See mortgage loan for residential mortgage lending, and commercial mortgage for lending against commercial property. Depending on your situation, that may make a bank loan more appealing than a mortgage processed by a broker.

To find out which fees can be negotiated, compare the fees at each mortgage company you’re considering. Many of these fees are fixed but some can be negotiated.

A mortgage is the pledging of a property to a lender as a security for a mortgage loan for 7 percent. Start with credibility. It’s not easy to know if the prices quoted by lenders are reliable.

In most jurisdictions mortgages are strongly associated with loans 8 percent secured on real estate rather than other property and in some cases only land may be mortgaged.

Child Porn on DMOZ Debated

Friday, August 29th, 2008

A raucous debate has been raging at a forum for website owners and developers over the inclusion of sites which are said to be involved in child pornography at one of the internet’s oldest and largest directories.

Called DMOZ or the open directory project, it is hosted and administered by Netscape Communication Corporation of Mountain View, California., which is owned by America Online, Inc., (AOL), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Time Warner Inc. Under a strategic agreement with Google, which was expanded late last year to include a $1 billion investment by Google in AOL, the Google Directory is based on DMOZ.

The sites which have sparked the controversy are located in the adult section of the DMOZ directory and the adult section of the Google Directory, which mirrors DMOZ listings. It was ignited on January 26, 2006 when an individual named “dvduval” asked, “did you know cherryboys.com has 62 listings on DMOZ? advertised as ‘a yummy batch of gay boy sites’.” Asked why he was highlighting this, he responded, “Because I am against child pornography and because DMOZ does not deserve to be used as Google’s directory if they are supporting illegal activities on their site.”

NOTE: The complete debate is located at the URL http ://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=53712

Free Speech Argument

For some DMOZ editors the debate over the inclusion of child pornography websites and forums in the directory hinges on U.S. constitutional guarantees of free speech and the broader notion that censorship runs counter to the internet’s founding principles. Ironically, Google and other major trans-national internet corporations are being criticized for participating in state-sponsored censorship in China and other countries.

Yahoo, Google, Microsoft and other companies were hauled before Congress to defend their role in helping China prevent its citizens from freely accessing the internet. Microsoft has shut down controversial blogs at the request of the Chinese government, while Google’s Chinese version of its search engine doesn’t provide links to content deemed unacceptable by the government. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao this week defended the controls saying, “With the development of the Internet, there has been some harmful and illegal content.”

The Chinese defense is at the core of the debate raging at the Digital Point internet forum for webmasters since January 26. While not seeking police intervention, critics of the inclusion of alleged child pornography sites in the adult sections of directory demand self censorship by DMOZ and its editors.

Child Porn Moved to Test Area

The negative criticism of DMOZ appears to be having an impact. A February 15, 2005 post to the Digital Point debate by an individual identified as “Genie” states: “The normal procedure in the ODP (DMOZ) is to make moves after debate. . . . But in this case there was concern that delay caused by the debate was in itself a problem. . . . The category is due for a move to Test. Because of the way the software works the category move won’t go through immediately. By the time it does the Admins should be ready with their statement.”

However, some participants in the debate see the move as inadequate. An individual identified as “Gworld” argues, “Why after so much debate, the best solution possible is just to move it to ‘test’ until a ’solution’ can be found? The REAL solution is very simple and obvious to any reasonable person. Sites that deal with pedophilia as medical condition or crime should be moved to normal DMOZ under proper category and everything else under adult which in many ways implies pedophilia as accepted sexual practice must be deleted.”

Whether or not these efforts to bring the debate to an end and prevent it from leaving the confines of webmasters and DMOZ editors is questionable. Issues of responsibility within the DMOZ hierarchy and at Netscape, AOL, Time-Warner and Google remain unanswered. Without a proper, public airing of the issue, there remains a risk the sites will creep back into the DMOZ and Google Directories.

Oprah Attacks Child Porn on Internet

The issue about child pornography on the internet is becoming a larger one. The February 15 Oprah show discussed the fate of a young boy who, at 13, became an internet porn star.

The Oprah show notes state, “Despite death threats, nineteen-year-old Justin is appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show to reveal the secret world of online child webcam pornography. Justin, who also turned down a lucrative book deal to appear on the show, hopes his decision will help children around the world.

“Six years ago, Justin was a typical ‘boy next door.’ Between homework and band practice, he found time to run a legitimate small business creating websites. A self-described ‘computer nerd,’ Justin was excited to get an inexpensive webcam. He planned to use the simple tool–a video camera that connects to the Internet–to meet friends and chat with girls. Justin joined a popular website and posted his profile. Instant messages immediately started popping up on his computer.”

Central Nic Domains

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Now is the time for Webmasters to get in on Central nic domain names! That’s right–thanks to the availability of central nic domain names, all webmasters can get a chance to get the domain name they desire by registering for a domain name with any registrar that handles central nic names. Think about it; registering for a central nic domain name has so many advantages. Let’s take a look at the many benefits of registration below:

1.Central nic is a domain registry offering alternative to the TLD and Country level domains. If you missed out on your chance to get the domain name you desired, now you are offered a second chance to get in on the action. Get the domain name you want with a .com extension!

2. uk.com, gb.com, .eu.com, and more are all available from domain registrars. Thus, if you missed out on your opportunity to get a .uk, .gb, or a .eu domain name, you will get a second chance to get the domain name you desire when you register for a central nic domain.

3.If you are set on a name that has been taken by another Webmaster, a Central nic name can be a good alternative. With a Central nic domain name you can still get the domain name you want with the added commercial extension. Don’t settle for a second choice domain name–get your central nic domain name precisely the way you want your domain name to be.

4. The commercial extension in a central nic domain name is already well established. So many websites on the Internet use .com extensions that it has become a near universal aspect of many domain names. Plus, the short extension is unobtrusive–it does not hurt the overall length of your domain name–nor does it decrease the effectiveness of a central nic domain name.

5. Using keywords in a domain is useful for SE purposes–yet, it can be difficult to get a domain name that is keyword enriched if the applicable domain names are already taken. Now, with our central nic domain name offerings, you get another great opportunity to get a keyword enriched domain name that will immediately improve your search engine ranking.

6. With a short commercial extension, Webmasters will still have a domain address that is easy to remember. You don’t have to worry about compromising a memorable domain address–the .com extension is easy to remember and hardly increases the length of a domain name at all. In fact, with so many domain names ending in .com, the commercial extension is almost expected by web users.

7. Registering for a central nic domain name now will ensure that you get in on the most popular domain names available. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to get the most popular domain names available. Popular domain names that draw significant traffic to websites will disappear quickly. Thus, the sooner you register for your central nic domain name, the better your chances will be that you get the exact domain name that you desire.

8. Beat the rush–you already know that on April 7, 2006, the Landrush phase for .eu domain names will commence. Why submit an application in hopes that you will be able to get the domain name you desire. Instead, secure a central nic domain now with a .com extension and ensure that you get the domain name you want. Thus, while everyone is struggling to get in on the .eu domain names, you will be ahead of the game when you register for your central nic domain name.

9. Whether you want to establish a business website or a personal website, there is no restrictions when you apply for a central nic domain name. That’s right; anyone can apply for a central nic domain name, even if their website is not for commercial use. No need to wait for the proper time to submit your application–if you want to register for a central nic domain name you an do so right now–today, this very minute!

10. Why wait until April when Eurid opens to the public, to get your domain name, when you can register for a central nic domain name and get your domain name quickly? Now is the time to get in on all of the central nic domain names available–the more time you spend delaying–the lower your chances are for getting in on the most popular central nic domain names.

Beside the Still Waters

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

My soul longs to be beside the still waters,
The still waters that ripple gently o’er the multicolored rocks below.
Gentle susurration they diffuse throughout the land,
Precious harmonies do they sing to all who listen.

Come and sit with me beside the still waters,
Sit where all is calm and all is quiet.
Let our souls resonate with the vibrational energy that these waters give out freely,
Free for all to share; free for all to enjoy.
Indeed, thirst none who sit beside these waters.

Sweet robins and friends come and sing beside the still waters,
They bare their heraldic breasts and trumpet their mellifluous melodies.
The scarlet tanager comes to join in and together the music made,
Comprises an ineffable chorus of peace and love.

Beside the still waters the sky is azure blue,
No clouds,
Only streaks of holy mists span its infinite expanse of cerulean crystal.
A rainbow stretches lazily across the waters,
Its colors mingling with the sweet sounds of the avian chorus,
Its wide arch reflects the playfully dancing melodies,
To and fro like the busy hand of a symphony conductor.
It is all so beautiful, too indescribable to tell.

Beside the still waters dark clouds hang not,
Nor do melancholy states offend its serenity.
Halcyon guards stand watch o’er this and none dare enter this way,
What peace, what joy, let all come and take in.

My soul longs to be beside the still waters,
The crystal clear waters where my mouth can drink.
Waters which purify and sanctify,
Waters which magnify my soul.

My soul longs to be there,
Beside these same still waters.
Lead me there, oh, Lord,
Lead me there anon.

The Market for Gaming Notebooks Has Turned into a Crowded One

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Until fairly recently, gaming laptops were traditionally custom built by select resellers. I highly doubt they shipped in any earth shattering quantities but they certainly produced lots of revenue for the resellers. The price was just too massive to justify buying these kinds of laptop for people. They the the most revolutionary technology and basically the best laptop computers. Even though they did get people thrilled I don’t think they sold in quantities because not many people really buy laptop computers that are that pricey. The outlook for gaming notebooks is now seen by the large brands as an unmissable opportunity for themselves.

In my point of view they would get off by retailing them at a higher price if they desired. It’s a good chance for them to claw back gross margins as the margins on normal laptop computers are so minute these days. I am pretty certain that most of us would buy laptop computers if mass marketed by these large companies. What would local resellers possibly do if they are priced out of the sector? I say this due to the fact that the technology which was once special and high priced is now becoming standard. I reckon buying from a familiar brand additionally gives the perception of added value for money.

The laptop computers coming out are proving to be the best laptop computers ever released. This is most likely the one advantage that littler resellers can give that the established brands cannot. Being able to buy specifically what components they want is a huge bonus for numerous people who are thinking of buying a gaming laptop. Normally a lot of comparisons of the tech specs will be done and the techies can see what the superior laptop really is. In the majority of cases the performance is way more significant than the aesthetics for certain kinds of consumers.

All the changes are extremely positive from the consumer’s position. High end technology will be acquirable to the majority when prices are pushed further down. I predict even industry analysts will have a tough time observing where the market is headed. New laptop launches should sustain premium prices. The global manufacturers have already launched their own gaming laptop line, so all we can do now is stand back and watch.

What Are Hosted Applications?

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

As access to the Internet becomes more widespread with faster, more reliable and ‘always on’ connections becoming the norm the growth of applications using the hosted application model continues to expand.

Although hosted applications will not suit every situation, or every customer, they offer many individuals and organizations, as well as the application manufacturers’ themselves, considerable benefits over the locally installed application.

What Is A Hosted Application?

A hosted application, also known as Internet-based application, web-based application, online application and Application Service Providers (ASPs) are software applications where the software resides on servers that are accessed through the Internet instead of the more traditional software that is installed on either a local server or on individual PC’s.

The thin client concept is nothing new but advances in Internet connectivity have allowed the application to move from a local server to a server on the Internet.

Example of hosted applications would be Salesforce.com that provides customer relationship management facilities, Netsuite offering all-in-one business management applications and SurveyGalaxy.com that provides their customers with an enterprise survey and questionnaires application.

What Are The Benefits?

Reduced costs, instant deployment, easier to maintain and reduced administration are among some of the main benefits.

Low Maintenance

With hosted applications the hardware and software is the responsibility of the vendor with the client only having to maintain access to the Internet. As there is no software to download a hosted application can be made instantly available across an entire organization even where the organization has multiple regional and international offices.

As there is no software the considerable time and resources required for periodic updates is also completely eliminated.

Reduced Cost

The need to license software through a ‘per user’, ‘per concurrent user’, ‘per server’ or ’site’ license has been eliminated. Although some hosted applications still do charge ‘per user’ many have taken the opportunity to charge on a ‘usage’ and/or ‘period’ basis meaning that the customer does not have to estimate the number of licenses that will be required, nor install and pay for full licenses that may only be used by some employees occasionally.

This hosted application model also allows the smaller organization and sole trader access to applications written using advanced software development tools and that utilize sophisticated database technology and high-end servers. The capital investment of the hardware and software as well as the security, backup and server maintenance cost are all the responsibility of the vendor.

Minimal Risk

Many hosted applications require no long term commitment from their customers. New customers can often test hosted applications either through a free introduction offer or with minimal risk using a Pay-As-You-Go model. If after trialing the hosted application the customer finds it unsuitable then they can simply stop using the service.

Access

Because the application software and the data is stored on the Internet server the application and data is available to the authorized client once they have logged on from anywhere there is Internet access. The customer can now work anywhere in the office environment, from remote offices or from their home or hotel without the need to download their work or synchronize with portable devices.

Integration

For organizations that have legacy systems from different suppliers running different operating systems the hosted application will provide an integrated solution to any system that supports a standard Internet browser including Windows, Unix and Macs.

Support

The hosted application vendors benefit by not having to maintain multiple version numbers or individual maintenance and licensing agreements. New updates are installed centrally negating the need for expensive roll outs. For many applications the need for version numbers is eliminated as updates are made incrementally bringing the benefits to the customer without having to bundle new features up into a new periodic version release. In some cases a user can request a new feature in the morning that can be developed, tested and deployed globally by the afternoon.

The Concerns

Internet access

New communication technology is able to bring high speed Internet connectivity to more and more remote places but there are still some regions where internet access is limited or not available.

In some cases such as mobile workers although high speed Internet connectivity is available the cost both in terms of connectivity charges and equipment may, at least in the short term, prove to be prohibitive.

Security

As with everything to do with the Internet security is a justified concern. There is no simple ‘one size fits all’ solution to the security issue and a lot will depend on the specific hosted application and the nature of the data.

With online banking and shopping becoming common place the vendor should be able to provide their clients with sufficient confidence that the data is secure and that any private information remains private.

Hosted applications will normally operate a login procedure ensuring that only those that are authorized have access. The more sensitive the data, the more sophisticated the login procedure.

A good data host will strictly enforce the stated wishes of their customers and ensure that data is not available or released to anyone that is not legally entitled to see it and they will adopt the latest security measures available to prevent unauthorized access.

There may be some areas such as automatic logins from known PC’s and the use of cookies that although they don’t necessary represent a significant risk could present a risk under certain circumstances, such as gaining access to a private account through the automatic login using an unattended PC. Although strictly speaking the customer’s responsibility the customer should be made aware of the risks so that they can take action to safeguard their own system.

Although security is a concern in some circumstances private data may prove to be more secure than it would be on a private network with less sophisticated security measures or in an environment where there is a risk from within.

Vendor Lock-In

As with all software applications there is a risk that a customer could become locked-in to paying costly monthly subscriptions to maintain access to their historic data. To counter this some applications will allow the data to be downloaded or allow customer to maintain access to their data for a reasonable time free of charge.

Control

Unlike a local application the hardware and software is under the control of a third party. This is a justifiable concern although not too dissimilar to the telephone provider supplying and maintaining the communications equipment and there are considerable incentives for the vendors to ensure high availability and reliability since their business depends on it.

In Summary

Benefits

    • No vendor installation or upgrades required
    • Low start-up costs
    • Minimal Risk, no long term commitment
    • Backups and viruses responsibility of the vendor
    • Hardware and software server maintenance vendor’s responsibility
    • Investment in local hardware & software reduced
    • No need to synchronized data with multiple devices
    • Access to data available globally through any internet connection
    • Reduced software licensing costs

Concerns

    • Lack of Internet availability
    • Security
    • Possibility of vendor lock-in

How to Put Your Kids (Or Grandkids) On the Fast Track to Success

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Working with adults (as well as children and teens) for the past 12 years I have noticed that there are just a few primary struggles that most adults face. I also see how better training as a child and teen could have given them the skills and attitudes that would have prevented the problems that they now face.

The primary areas adults struggle with are

1. Money, primarily debt

2. Lack of disciple, or the inability to do what they want to do, be it weight, money, work etc.

3. Relationships

As I see it, much of the way we live our lives is groomed as we grow up. And while we can certainly change, it is harder to do the older we get. This can cut both ways: If we are taught correctly we have a high chance of succeeding as adults and if we are taught poorly, there is a high chance that we will continue those poor habits into adulthood and face many difficulties.
The good news? We can put our kids on the fast track to success by diligently applying some basic success skills. To get you started, I’ve brainstormed some ways you can head off your children’s problems years before they face them. Here we go!

To have successful relationships:

Show them unconditional love. No matter what, we are to welcome and love our children. This does not mean that we won’t get mad at them from time to time or that we won’t discipline them when they cross the line. It means that we will always accept them and treat them with the respect they deserve as human beings, no matter what they have done. It means we do not hold grudges against them. We can disagree or even verbally tangle, but then we bury the hatchet and accept one another.

Teach them manners. There are acceptable ways of behaving. Unfortunately, many people today do not know them! Teach your children how to behave so that others are treated well and do not have to put up with our misbehavior. Why? Because they won’t put up with it anyway. Many people will simply write you off and never tell you why.

Help them learn to forgive. Most of the relationship problems I work with boil down to this: The people simply will not forgive one another and continue to hold past wrongs against the other person. Here is the fact, and you have to teach this to your kids: People will wrong you. It is what we do with that and how we react that will determine the health of the relationship in the future.

Help them to be able to focus on and serve others. Many parents make their kid feel like they are the center of the universe. One problem with this: They aren’t! The world doesn’t revolve around your kids and they can’t get their way all of the time. What happens later on in life when little Johnny (who was the center of the universe growing up) marries little Suzie (The center of another universe growing up)? You got it, problems! Now they have to share a universe! Instead we should teach our children to help others. We should teach them to consider other people’s interests as more important than our own.

To have successful finances:

Make them EARN money. Sure you can give your kids money – we do. But we should also teach them to earn money. We should give them opportunity to earn money. I don’t think a kid should get an allowance for doing chores. Chores are the responsibility of being part of the family. But you can give them extra jobs so they can understand fully the hard work they put in and appreciate the value of the money they receive. This will cause them to handle it better.

Have them give money away. Greed works its wonders on some of the nicest people. That is what I have found. And the best way to break greed is to give money away. Our children give away 10% of every dollar they get. This builds generosity into their hearts. We have been doing it so long that it is just a part of them. How can you be greedy about something you are giving away? And when you give it away you can see the good that it does to the people and organizations you help. (One side story: When my son was younger and got one dollar a week in allowance he would give a dime away. He suggested it would be a good thing if he started getting two dollars – because then he would be able to give two dimes away. I don’t know if he was being generous or shrewd!)

Teach them about investing. Yesterday I sat in the car explaining the law of supply and demand with my ten year old. Now he knows what something is “worth.” Now he knows why Beanie Babies are so expensive but a very efficient way of separating poor investors from their money. My kids hear about the old guns and butter theory (Guns represent items that appreciate and butter represents the things that melt away. Invest in appreciating assets and you can have all the butter you want later on. Invest in butter and you won’t ever have the guns.) These are basic principles that will allow your kids to be financially secure and not strapped later on. They will be the lender and not the borrower.

Teach them to delay self-gratification. I touched on this in the last point. If we teach our kids to delay gratification, they can put themselves into a financial position wherein they can actually afford the item they want rather than put themselves into debt or a precarious position to get it. Besides, half the time when they wait, they don’t want it in three weeks!

Teach them to never have any debt! No debt. Never. Period. Nada. Never, ever, ever. Pay cash or wait. Okay, did I get that through? Now let me be a little more temperate. Debt has created more problems I have dealt with than just about any other issue. Marriage problems, emotional problems, work problems, spiritual problems, and physical problems. We should engrain it into our kid’s heads that the only acceptable debt is a home mortgage and they should be conservative with that and even pay cash if they can! I hear you, “But I can’t get the car I want!” Too bad! See the guns and butter theory above! Your kids will visit your grave every week with flowers after you are gone if you love them and teach them to avoid debt.

To help them be successful in discipline:

Have them do certain tasks/chores on a regularly scheduled basis. Discipline is, well, a discipline. Teach your kids to make their beds every morning. Or do wash every Monday. Or mow the lawn every Saturday morning. Building schedules builds disciplined people who do not procrastinate, who are methodical and who are diligent. These are the people who succeed.

Let them experience discipline and consequences. Consequences are the greatest teachers! Many people who I see fail are people who have never suffered consequences. I know a gentleman who couldn’t hold a job. His employers were going to fire him. He was always late and couldn’t be relied upon – even by his friends. You never knew if he was telling the truth. One day I was talking to him and he said that he had never been punished or disciplined! The light went on! I finally understood. You know the old saying, “Spare the rod and spoil the child?” I say, spare the rod and you’ll raise a criminal! You may not want to let little Johnny experience the pain of consequences, but his boss will let him feel it 20 years from now! Prepare him for success now by making him realize that if he doesn’t do what is right, he will spend a lot of time in his room or he will miss out special things. He will grow up to be the most relied upon person in his office and he’ll be the boss one day.

Don’t protect them from losing. I coached little league football one year. It just so happens we were the youngest team in the league and we were terrible. One game we were getting beat 55-0 with about five minutes to play and I was getting screamed at by an irate parent. I turned to them and said, “You know. I learned some of my best lessons in 55-0 losses. I took a few of them in my athletic career, and I handed a few out too!” Sometimes we win in life, sometimes we lose. We need to learn what it feels like to lose and then get right back out there. It will prepare your kids much better to lose until they win legitimately than to win all the time. I remember one basketball game when I was on my way to about thirty points and a parent from the other team was screaming about it. My brother, who is 13 years older than me told the guy to sit down because I had earned all those point because of how many basketball thrashings I had taken at his hands through the years. Losing made me better!

Teach them to eat right and exercise. Many people struggle with their weight and it is usually because we learned bad habits as kids. We weren’t that overweight when we were younger but as our metabolism slows it catches up with us. Teach your kids basic nutritional information. Teach them how Candy bars plus milk shakes plus no exercise equals trouble! When we go to the health club our kids can swim and play all they want in the pool – as soon as they finish their laps!

Teach them to make tough decisions and learn to say “no.” The most powerful word in the world! We should teach our children to understand what is the most important – their priorities – and say “no” to everything else. So many people get themselves into trouble and overextended because they do not have the discipline to say “no.” The reality is that you will act on an agenda – either yours or someone else’s. Saying “no” enables you to stay on track. Teach them to make tough decisions because it is what is right or because it will be better in the long run, rather than on how it will make them feel.

Encourage them to risk failure and try new things. I have met so many people who were always taught to play it safe. And guess what? They are playing it safe, leading, as the quote says, “Lives of quiet desperation.” Teach your kids to try new things and give them the opportunity to do so. Help them see the bigger picture when they fail, like what they can learn from the situation so they can win the next time. It is the people who risk failure and try new things who change the world and lead the lives they want to!

Pitch the TV. Okay, my soapbox: Get rid of the television. If you have to have the one-eyed monster in the house just get a monitor so you can watch videos from time to time. I haven’t had a TV for 12 years – and I LOVE IT! My kids are healthy, sociable, well-adjusted, smart kids. They have creative imaginations because they have to picture everything themselves rather than rely on someone else’s interpretation. They read many grade levels above where they are. They have time to do all sorts of things that they want to because they have an extra 20 hours a week (1040 hours a year) that other kids their age don’t! Someday I am going to write a book on benefits and reasons to get rid of the TV because the fact is you will be much better off without it than you are with it! And so will your kids!

History and Development: What Exactly is an Electric Blanket?

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

A modern electric blanket is composed of grids of thin, insulated wires. These wires generate heat inside the entire blanket. Therefore, if you are easily chilled and often like to turn up the heat or layer with sweaters, especially as you sleep, an electric blanket will be the perfect thing for you!

History:

When electricity was born in the 1900s, electrical elements were added to many common household items. The very first electric blankets were very dangerous, but have since been further developed, designed for your comfort and safety.

It wasn’t until the 1920s that electric blankets became appealing to the general public. Tuberculosis patients would spend much of their recovery time outdoors because the air was fresher than the air inside, however, the temperatures would significantly drop overnight. Hospitals and private nurses soon began to use electric blankets to keep their patients warm outside. Gradually the electric blanket made its way to the public market, available for anyone to purchase.

Modern electric blankets:

The earliest electric blankets had adjustable thermostats to control temperature, but more modern versions use rheostats. So what is a rheostat? Rheostats not only measure the heat generated by your blanket, but also take into account the body heat you will generate as you use it. This results in a more even heating overall.

However, we must not forget that because the wires embedded in these blankets are, in fact, powered by electricity, there are always risks of shock or fire. The manufacturers make certain that they warn the consumer not to misuse an electric blanket because of these risks.

If you have an older electric blanket, it has been shown that the continued use of older electric blankets has been the cause of many accidental fires and electrocutions. The problems that create such risks have been continuously and are in an ongoing development of the safest possible electric blankets. So if you own an old electric blanket, please get rid of it and purchase a new one, for your own safety.

A great fact about electric blankets is that a single, thin layer of bedding (i.e. the electric blanket) can replace several expensive cover sheets, and other blankets and comforters. Therefore, many people wanted to purchase them to help them save money on winter warmth.

There are ways to find electric blankets without having to pay expensive prices for them. Electric blankets come in all different colors, sizes, and designs. So check out the reasonable prices offered for high quality electric blankets and purchase one at a cost that you can easily afford.

Ex-CIA Folks are Problematic

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

Those who are above the law or act as such are a problematic situation for civilizations. Maybe this is why the CIA is so effective in screwing up other nation’s government. There is a problem when these ladies and gentlemen retire. They often use contacts from the government and agency to network and work the system. This is a problem because invariably it hurts an honest and law abiding citizen.

We can fix this easy enough. Simply chip them. We put a satellite RFID – Radio Frequency Identifier and track them wherever they go. We know the many ex-CIA are involved in the drug trade in our nation. This is bad because these illegal drugs coming into the country that they make money on, tend to cause an increase in law enforcement, rehabilitation and health care costs. It would be cheaper for us to simply pay them a lifetime pension. Track them and then hold them to the full extent of the law times five in the case of any misdeeds in the country.

When you hire someone to lie, cheat, manipulate and show them how to operate outside the system, you have created a real negative dynamic in the system. Many of these people end up with juicy contracts, employment and above the law lifetime status and as any human well trained in the arts of Machiavellian technique we are finding them abusing the privilege. Some are calling for the killing off in the line of duty of such folks or kicking them out of the country after they are completed in their careers. I disagree, by using technology we can implant them with chips and allow them to integrate back into society without having to kill them.

Many politicians believe that many of the ex-CIA know too many secrets and know too much about the actual politicians which they use to bribe them with and prefer to have them killed as to not spill the beans on a shady or disreputable back door deal or government operation. There are plans a foot to do just that in some inner circles.

If all this sounds too much like a spy novel to you, it is okay for you to not wish to address this serious problem as it may or may not actually affect you personally, but it does affect our nation in a serious way. Since we are the land of second chances, let’s just chip the ex-CIA operatives and bureaucrats and be done with it. We own the government and as long as they wanted the job in the first place, we own them too. Think on this.
