The Garden Office for those Working in Creative Fields
Friday, August 5th, 2011Working from my dwelling is not for everybody, all the same I might reason that in case you have a career in an artistic discipline, do seriously think about doing your work from home should you be able to do so. Why? Creativity isn’t something you can turn and off like a tap – you can be artistic at anytime of the whole day, not just 9 to 5. Moreover, it’s difficult being artistic in a noisy environment. Whether it’s writing, website development, print, graphic design, whatever – you want that solitude to come up with new concepts.
I have been a telecommuter for the last eight years, and have never regretted the move. At home, I work everyday, still every day sort of feels like a holiday. I suppose you may think I’m slacking off; however I’m not – it is just that at any time when I get down to my project at hand, I actually DO work. No effort is a waste, and thus it’s all productive time. I do know of a few other people who have garden offices and they usually have the same opinion as me – working from home really saves one time and is tremendously productive also. Although it isn’t for everybody, when you really feel you’re not making the most of your time within the office, think about working from home.
