We've all found ourselves struggling with fixing broken traditional flashlight lightbulbs. And I bet there will have been moments when you've been required to juggle things while fixing a plug! Don't panic any more -- LED headlamps could solve your problems.

I’m sure we’ve all struggled with changing a damaged traditional torch light bulb. And I bet you will have had times when you’ve been required to balance matters while mending a plug. Don’t worry any more — LED lanterns could fix all your troubles! Clamp tripod lights are far superior to the old style flashlights. They’re infinitely more flexible, use a teeny amount of power and hardly produce any surfeit of heat.

Our extraordinary design means that you can use LED flashlights differently. This could include clamp-lights which can be immensely flexible and fit for nearly any purpose. The bulbs last hundreds of hours — so you needn’t stress about needing to switch bulbs too regularly. An LED light is one of the best things you’ll ever own. You can attach them to books making reading easier on your eyes and position them in awkward dim niches for when they’re required. Also, they’re really nifty when you’re hunting for something that has gone missing. Mending awkward things is difficult — closets, tight corners and recesses beneath the kitchen counter really aren’t nice to be poking about in without adequate lighting. Super bright LEDs make this easier — just clip in an useful spot and immediately the area you’re working in will be amply lit. Bigger LEDs can be fastened onto tables — rid yourself of your traditional desklamp! Paperwork can be simpler when you can see more clearly. Hunters or fishermen will find LED flashlights so convenient. Hang them from the edge of your hat instead of carrying old flash-lights and the whole area is brightened up straight away. In no time at all, hunting later in the evening will appear to be completely changed. LED clamp-lights can be especially useful to manual laborers as well. Some farm workers are just some of those users who consider LED clamp-lights to be essential, allowing them to hunt about within machinery engines. The LED is really useful with loads of potential uses. You’ll want dozens of them and will be able to shine light into every last issue. You’ll find it easier to unwind with various interests such as reading newspapers, using your laptop, playing computer games or even knitting — all without straining your eyesight. LED technology lights enable all of these opportunities.

Geothermal power comes from energy located inside of the earth itself in order to give clean, green energy with out adding to climate change. It is much more cost effective as well as scalable compared to wind turbines and solar panels and is significantly safer compared to nuclear fission. So whenever hunting for an option to traditional fuels, give geothermal power a chance.

Envision a future totally free of fossil fuels, a world where we are not shackled by oil or harming the atmosphere by burning coal. With geothermal energy this vision is actually achievable today. Geothermal energy functions by tapping into the energy of the earth itself to create clean, reliable energy that does not make use of natural resources and will be around for future generations. Plus, unlike fossil fuel energy sources such as oil, natural gas, and coal, geothermal energy is, for the most part, carbon neutral. This makes it a extremely essential tool in the fight against climate change.

But how does geothermal power work and also what makes it any greater than various other forms of green energy like wind farms or solar plants? Well to put this simply, the earth is hot. In addition to the energy soaked up every day by the sun, the earth’s core has adequate energy left over from its formation and from the radioactive decay of elements to cover the entire human population’s energy consumption numerous times over. Geothermal plants, such as those in Southampton, harness this particular power by drilling deep below the earth’s surface and pumping water down the hole. This water is then warmed naturally and the energy is transformed into electricity. They produce serious amounts of electricity too, with 10 gigawatts created in 2007. Although this is actually just a tiny amount of the global total, geothermal power use is growing daily as more and more countries switch over to environmentally friendly sources of electricity.

As opposed to nuclear energy plants, geothermal wells create absolutely no dangerous radioactive waste that needs to be moved and stored and it offers advantages over other non-fossil energy sources as well. Solar panels and wind generators, while still superb sources of renewable power, are costly and cannot be scaled up to the degree that geothermal power plants can. Geothermal pumps can range from a small unit created to power a single house to huge utility plants that can power an entire city. Plus it is a time tested technology that has been around for millennia. In fact, the Romans even relied on geothermal wells to warm their famous baths and floors such as those found in Bath in Somerset. The ancient Chinese dynasties tapped into the power of hot springs as well and took advantage of the therapeutic properties that the warmth supplied.

As you can see, geothermal energy has a lot to offer in an more and more sustainable society. It is completely renewable, produces very little waste, is carbon-neutral, and it is a cost efficient method of producing electricity without adding to global warming. For these reasons geothermal power is regarded as a serious alternative to solar, wind, nuclear, and especially fossil fuels as an energy source.

Broadband customers in UK were in for a pleasant surprise when independent speed tests ranked service providers on speedy web browsing and quick downloads.

Telecom players vie to gain and retain customer satisfaction by offering the best of both. Therefore, O2 commissioned an independent contractor to carry out speed tests on five mobile networks in UK. Spanning a period over 60 days, seven days a week at 150 locations, the mobile internet speed was tested at varied time throughout the day for speedy web browsing and quick download time for all five mobile networks.

O2 broadband was able to provide the quickest music downloads in 12 of the cities while Vodafone was able to offer the speediest service in 5 cities. T-Mobile, Orange and O2 were on a tie for the second place in web browsing while Vodafone clearly took the second place in music downloads.

As far as the tests go, more knowledge for the user is always a good thing. However, the tests clearly showed that the difference in the speeds offered by the competing networks seems to be marginal. Efficiency and effectiveness of broadband networks need evaluation in more ways than one. Also, as the locations of these tests have not been divulged, the user still would not know which network is the fastest in a specific area.

The quality of refitted electronics has improved greatly in the last few years, and they've become a viable -- not to mention economical! -- selection. Whatever your ideal tech is, you'll find a number of ways to locate it at a reasonable price. Here's the key points you need to keep in mind when you look for digital camera special offers, discount game console offers, or many other great items

The endurance of repaired systems has made great strides over recent years, so you can consider them a viable — not to mention low cost– selection. Even if you want the more recent items, we can recommend a great many ways to cut expenditure. So let us tell you things you should keep in mind when searching for laptop offers, mp3 player deals, and many other excellent deals on electronics.

Going with overhauled electronics like a Zwee is a great way to save a significant quantity of money. You won’t sacrifice reliability, either. If you buy through a respectable retailer, there’s a chance to secure warranties, which dramatically reduces the risk. When opening negotiations, look for merchants which can supply discount game console offers, sim free cell phone deals, cheap ebook readers, laptop offers, et cetera. Usually these retailers boast a notably broader assortment than retailers of brand new equipment.

Take a note of the time of year — when you are on the calendar can massively affect what things cost. One of the obvious periods where electronic gadgets are available for low prices is, clearly, Christmas. Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, usually sees a massive promotion for new products with amazing bargains.

Technology evolves, and even if something which does what you want is available already that’s a good thing. Price cuts on existing models are a natural result, which is wonderful for shoppers. No matter what you’re hot for — a Zwee, discount game console offers, or cheap ebook readers — these offer a golden opportunity! Scammers are common on certain online outlets for their schemes, you could find your money stolen. For this reason the trustworthiness of your merchant site is significant. Pinpointing the frauds is mostly straightforward once you have a good idea of the telltale signals to look for. Look into the way they accept payments. Watch out for anyone who only accepts wire transfers. Difficult to trace, simple to accomplish — it’s no surprise the fakes like it. Make sure you look at the security seals — they should actually link to a legitimate verification site. Electronic goods can usually be acquired cheaply. Don’t forget, though, that, there are quite a few other things to be done than simply go for the most obvious special deal at hand to reduce costs if you take care e.g. when hunting a Zwee or digital camera special offers.

As we enter a new year, some people are beginning to make changes as to how their personal e-mail is handled. Many went from using their own Exchange server to going with Intermedia’s Exchange 2010 hosting. Intermedia is the largest provider of Microsoft Exchange hosting in the world and the company is also one of the first few providers to offer this service back in November.
As a lot of people are probably aware, Exchange 2010 is the newest release of the flagship messaging platform of Microsoft. It is, however, unknown to many that the software provider designed it first for use in hosted environments before it worked on its current traditional server version. The development path that its team took is significantly different from its beginnings.
Here are a few advantages to switching to hosted Exchange 2010 for SMBs.
First of all, maintenance is not optional. Managed hosting services are currently increasing in reliability so it just doesn’t make sense anymore to run a personal e-mail server, particularly given the cheaper cost of internet connectivity these days. The cost of hardware, software licenses, maintenance and upgrades can add up quickly. Hosted solutions can be significantly more cost effective for SMBs.
Another benefit to hosted Exchange 2010 is it supports mobile and web access. Intermedia also supports Exchange ActiveSync and Blackberry. You can activate your BlackBerry with the new account without having to install BES or perform complicated configuration.
Access to new technologies is the last of a list of advantages to using this e-mail solution. Hosted e-mail allows clients to take advantage of new features in Exchange 2010 without investing on new hardware or paying for a new license.

I’ve taken many a certification exam over the years, and helped many others prep for theirs. Here are the five things you must do on exam day to maximize your efforts.

1. Show up on time. Yeah, I know everyone says that. The testing center wants you there 30 minutes early. So why do so many candidates show up late, or in a rush? If you have a morning exam appointment, take the traffic into account. If it’s a part of town you don’t normally drive in during rush hour, you might be surprised at how much traffic you have to go through. Plan ahead.

2. Use paper, not the pad. Some testing centers have gotten into the habit of handing exam candidates a board that allegedly wipes clean, along with a marker that may or not be fine-pointed. You do NOT want to be writing out charts for binary math questions, or coming up with quick network diagrams, with a dull magic marker. It’s also my experience that these boards do not wipe clean well at all, but they smear quite badly.

Ask the testing center employee to give you paper and a pen instead. I haven’t had one refuse me yet. Remember, you’re the customer. It’s your $100 – $300, depending on the exam.

3. Use the headphones. Most candidates in the room with you understand that they should be quiet. Sadly, not all of them do. Smacking gum, mumbling to themselves (loud enough for you to hear, though), and other little noises can really get on your nerves in what is already a pressure situation. In one particular testing center I use, the door to the testing room has one setting: “Slam”.

Luckily, that center also has a headset hanging at every testing station. Call ahead to see if yours does. Some centers have them but don’t leave them at the testing stations. Wearing headphones during the exam is a great way to increase your powers of concentration. They allow you to block out all noise and annoyances, and do what you came to do — pass the exam.

4. Prepare for the “WHAT??” question. No matter how well-prepared you are, there’s going to be one question on any Cisco exam that just stuns you. It might be off-topic, in your opinion; it may be a question that would take 20 of your remaining 25 questions to answer; it might be a question that you don’t even know how to begin answering. I have talked with CCNA candidates who got to such a question and were obviously so thrown off that they didn’t do well on any of the remaining questions, either.

There is only one thing to do in this situation: shrug it off. Compare yourself to a major-league pitcher. If he gives up a home run, he can’t dwell on it; he’s got to face another batter. Cornerbacks in football face the same problem; if they give up a long TD pass, they can’t spend the next 20 minutes thinking about it. They have to shrug it off and be ready for the next play.

Don’t worry about getting a perfect score on the exam. Your concern is passing. If you get a question that seems ridiculous, unsolvable, or out of place, forget about it. It’s done. Move on to the next question and nail it.

5. Finish with a flourish. Ten questions from the end of your exam, take a 15-to-30 second break. You can’t walk around the testing room, but you can stand and stretch. By this point in the exam, candidates tend to be a little mentally tired. Maybe you’re still thinking about the “WHAT??” question. Don’t worry about the questions you’ve already answered — they’re done. Take a deep breath, remember why you’re there — to pass this exam — and sit back down and nail the last ten questions to the wall.

Before you know it, your passing score appears on the screen!

Now on to the CCNP! Keep studying!

When you start studying for your CCNA and CCNP exams, many books will present you with a huge list of keystroke shortcuts for use on Cisco routers. While the 640-801, 811, and 821 exams may ask you about one or two of these, you really have to get hands-on experience with these commands to master them. Even better, there are some key combinations that Cisco routers mention, but then don’t tell you what they are! Let’s take a look at a few of the more helpful key combinations, and conclude with the “secret” way to stop a ping or traceroute.

The up arrow on your keyboard is great for repeating the last command you typed. Let’s say you mis-enter an access-list. Instead of typing it from the beginning, just hit your up arrow to repeat it, then fix the problem.

CTRL-A takes the cursor to the beginning of a typed line. If you’ve written an extended ACL, you know that can be a very long command, and one you probably don’t want to retype. If you get a carat indicating there is a problem with the line, use your up arrow to repeat the command. If you see the error is near the beginning, use CTRL-A to move the cursor immediately to the beginning of the line. CTRL-E takes the cursor to the end of a typed line.

To move the cursor through a typed line without erasing characters, you’ve got a couple of options. I personally like to use the left and right arrows, but you can also use CTRL-B to move back and CTRL-F to move forward.

Finally, there’s the combination that Cisco mentions to you when you run ping or traceroute, but they don’t tell you what it is! If you send an extended ping or a traceroute, you could be looking at asterisks for a long time if you don’t know this one. In the following example, a traceroute is obviously failing:

R2#traceroute 10.1.1.1

Type escape sequence to abort.

Tracing the route to 10.1.1.1

1	* * *

2 *

The problem is that you’re going to get 30 rows of those asterisks, which is frustrating and time-consuming at the same time. Note the router console message “Type escape sequence to abort”. That’s helpful – but what is it?

Here it is: Just type CTRL-SHIFT-6 twice, once right after the other. You won’t see anything on the router console, but the traceroute will terminate.

R2#traceroute 10.1.1.1

Type escape sequence to abort.

Tracing the route to 10.1.1.1

1	* * *

2 * * *

3

R2#
The traceroute was successfully terminated. This combination works for pings as well, both extended and regular. Of all the keystrokes you can learn, this one is the most valuable!

A modern job hunting campaign is by nature very complex. While the Web has offered a variety of new job sites, networking sites, etc., it also creates multiplied competition for hot jobs and potential hurdles for job seekers.

Job searches need to be thought of as a highly personal, highly targeted marketing and selling process where you are the product. Your resume is an ad. Your extended network is your lead generating machine.

So where does the Internet fit in? At AA-Careers, we recently listed a job on Craigslist and got over 600 resumes in a few days. For just one opening. That’s unreal competition.

Had the right job seeker contacted us ahead of our posting that job, they could have secured the job prior to getting all that competition. How? By knowing a person at our organization who became aware of the job prior to posting. Everyone was aware of the job for at least a week before it was posted. Who in your extended network might know of a job that’s coming on the market soon?

So the good news is that job sites give you a sense of who is hiring, and for what kinds of careers. But once those jobs are posted, the rivalry is fierce. You can still compete, if you have a well honed resume, designed to appeal directly and clearly to the recruiter. And if you have practiced interviewing – so you don’t stumble at a critical point.

Another issues to be aware of is how easily you can be looked up on the internet. As we Googled several candidates, we ran into some pictures and comments that were in questionable taste. Nothing illegal, but enough to sway our thinking about who to hire.

AA-Careers provides a comprehensive set of services for Bay Area job seekers, providing our clients a personal career consultant, a managed job hunting campaign, modern tools like a personal website, video, highly targeted resume, and much more. Let us know if we can help you.

Be careful out there, and good hunting!

They were of the view that network providers will find it difficult to manage the increased demand in bandwidth caused by the pandemic. Approximately two in every five workers will face difficulty in fulfilling their positions for an extended period. Thus, although work will continue from homes, it will be an arduous task for the local network to meet the high bandwidth demand.

In normal times, traffic for commercial internet usage due to work-at-home is more during the daytime while consumer traffic is less. However, during a pandemic, consumer traffic during daytime will increase because many children will stay at home, thus causing the bandwidth problem.

Research vice president at Gartner, Roberta Witty, commented that organisations are required to include planning regarding the impact of pandemic on work-at-home during negotiations with the service providers. They need to chalk out strategies to handle such a situation. These may include deciding in advance which business operations would require heavy bandwidth utilisation, or planning a break-up of work hours so that the possibility of getting the required bandwidth may increase.

Gartner has recommended the usage of 3G (see dongle broadband), satellite connections and WiMAX to help cope with the increased bandwidth demand.
